Dunsfold Park is the industrial complex on the site of Dunsfold Aerodrome. It is a 516 acre airfield with 78 acres of commercial space an 18-acre solar farm and 12-acres of land for the construction of an anaerobic digestion plant – a total of nearly 625 acres. Dunsfold Park was a base for Canadian and Dutch B-25 Mitchell bombers during WWII and for aircraft involved in the Berlin Airlift in 1949. It was subsequently used by Hawker Aircraft and BAE Systems to build combat aircraft, including the Hunter, Harrier and Hawk, until the factory was closed in 2000. The site has a permanent planning consent for manufacture, repair and flight testing of aircraft and is home to more than 100 local businesses, generating more than £30 million for the local economy.
