Cranleigh Chamber of Commerce, working with local volunteers and sponsors, are busy making plans for another exceptional Christmas Lights Switch-On event.
A day of family fun is being arranged, with live music, stalls throughout the High Street and late night shopping on offer.
Benson’s Funfairs will be offering rides throughout the afternoon and shoppers will be able to get an early start on their Christmas shopping, with outside craft and continental market stalls, street food and late night shopping at your favourite local independent retailers.
A programme of live entertainment featuring local musicians will captivate crowds on the main stage in Fountain Square from 5pm onwards, with the lights being officially switched on by our special guest at 6.30pm.
Live entertainment continues into the evening, giving families the opportunity to enjoy delicious food and drink after the lights have been switched on.
In order to keep visitors to the event safe, the High Street will be closed to all traffic between 5pm and 7pm, with well signed local diversions in place.
It will cost Cranleigh Chamber of Commerce £25,000 to organise the Christmas Lights and switch-on event this year, with this money coming from generous local businesses and Chamber members. All of the hard work required to make the lights and event happen is down to a small group of committed volunteers, who work tirelessly for nine months each year to put everything in place.
We do hope you can join us for what promises to be another enjoyable Christmas Lights Switch-On in Cranleigh, as we celebrate the start of the festive season.
